France’s Billionaire Pinault Family Joins European SPAC Push: Report

France’s billionaire Pinault family is joining the growing line of sponsors of European SPACs, aiming to raise as much as €300 million ($354 million) for a blank-check company that will focus on the entertainment and leisure industries, Financial Times reports.

I2PO is being launched in Paris today by investment firm Artemis and will list on the Euronext Paris stock exchange. It is backed by Centerview Partners banker Matthieu Pigasse and will be headed by former WarnerMedia executive Iris Knobloch. Artemis is backed by French businessman François-Henri Pinault, who is married to Hollywood actress Salma Hayek. Read more.
