Trump’s Social Media Company Disputes He Left its Board

Donald Trump’s social media company on Thursday disputed a report that the former president had left its board of directors, despite Florida state business records that suggest he did, Axios reports.

Trump Media & Technology Group is at the heart of ongoing federal and state investigations into a blank-check company with which it’s agreed to merge.

TMTG in April told Florida’s Division of Corporations that Donald J. Trump was a “director” with the company. Also listed as “directors” were his son, Donald Trump Jr., former White House official Kashyap Patel and onetime “Apprentice” contestant Wes Moss.

A subsequent filing dated June 8 says that Trump, Trump Jr., Patel and Moss all should be removed as listed directors. This was about a month before TMTG was hit with federal subpoenas for records involving its interaction with Digital World Acquisition, the SPAC aiming to take Trump’s media company public.

Based on these Florida corporation filings, it would appear that only CEO Devin Nunes, the former California congressman, remains on the TMTG board, while the only other listed executive is CFO Phillip Juhan.

TMTG hit back at the report originally published in a Florida newspaper, insisting instead that Trump remains on the TMTG board.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority have been investigating Trump’s SPAC deal since late last year. Last month, Digital World said the SEC also sought more information.

Digital World was trading at $24.55 early this afternoon, down 86% from its 52-week high of $175. Read more.
