Former President Donald Trump’s social network is back on top of Apple’s App Store, fueling a rebound in the blank-check firm bringing its parent company public, Bloomberg reports.
Shares of Digital World Acquisition leaped 24% today as thousands more users gained access to Truth Social’s full functionality and downloads jumped almost tenfold. The SPAC, which is merging with Trump Media & Technology Group, had slumped 60% in the previous two months or so. Much of the recent decline in shareholder value was attributed to news that Elon Musk plans to buy Twitter, a formidable competitor.
Truth Social is essentially a clone of the Twitter interface and even Trump himself has used the Truth platform only once to post a message. Read more.
