Laris Media Acquisition Nixes $250M IPO

Music and audio SPAC Laris Media Acquisition, led by Entertainment One CEO Darren Throop, withdrew registration for a $250 million IPO, according to a notice sent to the SEC.

Laris registered the offering with the regulator in March 2021, with plans to target companies engaged in audio technology and music streaming.

Throop began his career as an entrepreneur in 1991 when he founded Urban Sound Exchange, a chain of retail music stores. 

The SPAC was intending to apply for a Nasdaq listing with Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse serving as joint book-running managers. Read more.
